The National Events Alliance (NEA) today has released its logo, vision, mission and objectives for the future.
The National Events Alliance is a new events alliance launched to proactively look after the events industry after over a year of serious struggle for the industry and its associated businesses.
NEA has set out its vision to represent all sectors of the events industry who support and conduct exhibitions and events nationally. NEA members provide face-to-face marketing experiences through both trade shows (business-to-business) and consumer shows (business-to-consumer).
NEA aims to be the voice and leader of the exhibitions and events industry, with the major focus on the marketing of the ‘live event platform’ to sponsors, exhibitors and visitors. As a group, it is intended we will meet and communicate regularly to exchange information and ensure, not only best practice, but equally to ensure members keep learning. Ultimately we are a group that supports each other.
The new logo has used bold type to signify the strong foundation of the industry and the use of a boomerang is linked to being both Australian and the concept that a boomerang returns back to where it originated from and NEA has a focus on getting people and businesses back to live events.
As a united voice, we are committed to proactively look after our sector with positive actions. NEA aims to ensure members’ entire marketing, sales and operations teams can take advantage of all the resources and benefits we have to offer as they are developed. The new association is for the industry by the industry, and cares for all sizes of businesses with an equal voice. We recognise that the majority of the industry are Australian independent family businesses. As a member you will be treated like family.
Each active member organisation will have a voice, regardless of size. Benefits will include industry news, industry and professional resources, service partner discounts, and leadership development. These will be evolved over the first 12 months of operation.
A large issue NEA also wants to support is the mental wellbeing of the events industry, something that is often not talked about and currently spreading throughout the industry and something that needs to be actioned. A partnership will be announced soon which will include a program of support being released.
NEA Mission is to promote the unique value of events and exhibitions for suppliers, exhibitors and visitors and ensure a thriving and sustainable events sector.
NEA Goal is supporting and creating a sustainable, resilient industry that shows compassion and empathy to each other and those around them.
Exhibitions Mean Business
Trade shows and the businesses within the sector make a significant impact on the communities we serve, and the national economy. The elected committee will have a mandate of representing the whole of industry and raising the awareness of the effectiveness of the events and exhibition sector.
Events and exhibitions mean business and connect markets better than any other traditional mainstream media outlets and NEA intends to return to the core values in our messaging and share statistics and data with those decision makers informing why events should be prioritised in marketing and advertising budgets. To help drive that conversation an allocated budget has been planned through a dedicated media relations company.
The industry is resilient and understands the best way to support our industry is to return to what we do rather than look for handouts. We all need to help ourselves.
You can make a difference: by engaging and working collectively together, your voice will matter. Join NEA’s efforts to help key decision makers understand how events and exhibitions mean business.
New Foundation as well as individual memberships are also being developed due to the requests and interest.
Due to the HUGE amount of interest the web and social assets will be released in the coming week on how you can become involved once the administration structure is put in place.
