The Melbourne chapter of ISES certainly know how to celebrate in style.  To mark the 25th anniversary of the founding of the international association the local chapter held a dinner in the glorious Melbourne Town Hall on 6th July.

Melbourne Town Hall

Guests enjoyed pre-dinner canapés and drinks in the intimate foyer before moving into the main hall which had been draped to bring the vast size of the hall down to something a little more intimate. The tables were sparkling with candelabra and décor from Décor It and a lounge area by Complete Function Hire.

The MC for the night, TV journalist, Tracey Curro, kept the pace cracking as she introduced Jennifer Trethewey who spoke on behalf of the Australasian Affiliate Board and then Gian Blundo welcomed members and guests on behalf of the Melbourne Chapter.

Commemorative pins were presented to members of 10 years standing and then to those present who have been members for 20+ years – Glen Lehman (Lehman and Associates), Valerie Percival (IBM Australia), Romaine Pereira (International Conference & Events) and Trevor Connell (Australasian Special Events) all foundation members of the original Australian chapter.

The Inaugural ISES Melbourne Emerging Talent Award was won by Jenny Le from the William Angliss Institute.

The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the Michael Milburn Achievement Award which this year went to Hatem Saleh from The Atlantic Group [V].  ASE interviewed Hatem after the announcement – scroll down for the video.

Specialist large event caterers EPICURE provided the venue and the cuisine. Tyrrell’s Wines were served and Soulbeats Entertainment had guests up on the dancefloor.

The ISES Australasian Affiliate Board met during the day and then frocked up for the event.
