ISES Melbourne Chapter is the 2011-2012 winner of the internationally acclaimed ISES Spirit of Excellence “Excellence in Special Projects” Award. Founded in 1987, the ISES Spirit of Excellence Awards globally recognises ISES Chapters for their consistent excellence and overall performance of an outstanding achievement.
The Awards, judged by ISES Headquarters are announced during the Annual General Meeting held at the annual ISES Eventworld. This year Eventworld was held from the 2nd – 4th August in Dallas, Texas.
Categories open for nominations include: Communications, Programming and Education; Special Project(s) and Chapter of the Year. The entry process consisted of analysing, explaining and describing the planning of an entire event, culminating in a 100 page application.
ISES Melbourne Chapter entered their highly successful Student Conference, held at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins on 23rd May 2012 into the Special Project(s) category and has been officially recognised as the creator of one of the finest examples of event creativity, planning and strategic management, winning from a record eighteen other nominees.
As a mark of global distinction and the highest level of professional acknowledgment within the special events industry today, the award acknowledges the extraordinary efforts of the ISES Melbourne Chapter, Student Conference Committee, Gian Blundo (President); Jon Hopwood (VP-Education) and Yvonne Wilson (Secretariat). “What a fantastic result culminating from the hard work and commitment of the ISES Melbourne Chapter Student Conference Committee over the past four years.
