With only a week to go, the 2012 program of Australian Business Events Expo reveals a global perspective as the final touches are made in anticipation of opening its doors on 15-16 August at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.
This year, Event Director Rowan Marchingo and his team have drawn ideas from the four corners of Australia, and the world, to provide visitors with the opportunity to learn, see, compare and buy from the best in the business.
“The Australian Business Events Expo is the ultimate opportunity for all involved in delivering, selling and managing business events to come together. It will provide a national snapshot of the most current business events offerings resulting in a valuable, business focused two days.
“In 2012 we will see a very strong presence of new offerings to the show floor and returning exhibitors are definitely bringing new products, services, venues and ideas.
“What will be really obvious is Australia’s business event offering being world class; the show floor is a good demonstration of the strength and diversity of the industry,” said Mr Marchingo.
The show will open with Australia’s Event Master Class Seminar, ‘The Business Events of Australia’, with special guest presenters, Lyn Lewis-Smith, CEO, BESydney; Sandra Chipchase, CEO, Destination NSW and Terry Crane, MD of the CHOGM Taskforce.
Australia’s Event Master Class Seminars will also feature USA based Andrea Michaels and Corbin Ball. These international experts will join Seminar participants after their session at Central, the networking and meeting hub for the 2012 Expo. They will be joined by a whole host of national event gurus such as creative thinker, Matt Jones, Better Happy and Tana Pal, Westpac.
Back after popular demand, the sold-out Taste Kitchen will feature internationally renowned chefs from Australia’s best venues, such as Stefano Manfredi from Bells at Killcare and The Star, Stephen Seckhold from the Dedes Group (Flying Fish) and Carl Middleton from Hilton Hotel.
Hosted and Semi – Hosted Buyers from Victoria, South Australia, Queensland, New South Wales, and New Zealand will be attending the show courtesy of the partnership between Business Events Sydney, Qantas and Australian Business Events Expo.
To enhance engagement between buyers and exhibitors, all Hosted Buyers have presented at least two upcoming events that they plan to discuss with exhibitors at the ABEE.
In addition to the Hosted and Semi Hosted Buyer group, BESydney has secured a VIP group of corporate clients from Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia who will also explore the show floor.
New to the show in 2012, a feature called, “New Ideas for Business Events” will be an interactive lounge where visitors have an opportunity to contribute their thoughts on important issues in Business Events to an ideas wall, as well as view new offerings from exhibitors.
An interactive and informative smart phone app will be available for exhibitors and visitors to the show. Provided by ShowGizmo, it will include full details of all the exhibitors on board, and calendarise all events occurring at the show.
A full schedule of events is available at www.abeexpo.com.au
