An international competition celebrating innovation in modern media has recognised South Melbourne production company, Immediacy, for a stunning four-and-a-half minute video created for client, Siemens.

The film, Picture a Sustainable Future, was awarded an Intermedia-globe Silver Award at the WorldMediaFestival in Hamburg, Germany.

Immediacy’s brief was to capture the Siemens’ company-wide commitment to a sustainable future in a short film that would act as a key internal communications tool and to open major presentations with external stakeholders.

“At each level of its global business, this philosophy underpins every project Siemens undertakes,” explains Linda Marshall, Principal, Immediacy. “The key underlying message for this video was to compel people to act and to realise that a sustainable future starts now.”

Immediacy determined that a magazine-style format, featuring interviews with key staff intercut with environmental and economic experts, would evoke an immediate and emotional response.

The Picture a Sustainable Future campaign was developed by Siemens to demonstrate that innovation is its lifeblood, and the company’s mission is to create solutions that solve both the pressing environmental issues of today and the potential challenges of tomorrow.

“The video provides an insight into the spirit of innovation that lives in our organisation, our employees are empowered to bring sustainability to life in a way that is meaningful to them and our customers,” says Belinda White, Public Relations Manager, Siemens Australia.

“We determined a futuristic yet personable video style to evoke an inspirational response from the viewer, leaving people with the knowledge that Siemens as thought leaders are developing the technology that will create a sustainable future for all Australians,” she adds.

“Immediacy more than met the brief and they truly demonstrated their technical and creative expertise. The video’s reception has been overwhelmingly positive both internally and externally and we are proud to jointly win this prestigious international award.”

The WorldMediaFestival was founded in 2000 and has quickly risen to become one of the premier events in the production business, celebrating global excellence in corporate film, television, web, web TV and print production.

Immediacy is an independent Australian production company, working for government and business clients, achieving high profile acclaim for its work on the world stage.

“We’ve won several prestigious awards in the past few years,” says Linda Marshall. “As audiences become increasingly sophisticated, Immediacy’s role is to help our clients hit the mark with clear messaging and high quality production values.”

“Our job is to truly collaborate to make memorable and authentic productions. Winning awards like this is an added bonus for us and our clients, and we’re all very proud to be recognised.”
