Adelaide Convention Centre has appointed a new Director of Marketing and Sales, Simon Burgess. Simon, who has 18 years’ experience in tourism marketing and sales, will join the Adelaide team in mid-May.

Mr Burgess is currently Assistant Vice President of Global Sales with Dusit International, an independent hotel chain comprising of 20 properties.
ACC Chief Executive Alec Gilbert says the Centre is thrilled to welcome Mr Burgess to the team.
“Simon has lived and worked in Europe and Asia and brings with him a wealth of knowledge, international networks, and experience in senior management in a cross section of business and tourism industry sectors.”
Mr Burgess says he was attracted to the opportunity to join an award-winning organisation with a strong track record of delivering world class events.

“This is an exciting time to be involved with the Centre and the City of Adelaide. The expansion and upgrade of the Centre is underway and there is significant investment being made in the city.
“Adelaide has always been an ideal location for business events due to the proximity of the ACC to the city and the ease of reaching the many attractions in the region.”
Most recently based in Bangkok, Mr Burgess says he is looking forward to settling in South Australia with his family, making the move with his Adelaide-born wife and daughter.
“From a personal perspective, I am looking forward to living in a city renowned for its food and wine, the arts and beautiful landscapes,” says Mr Burgess.
