At AIME in Melbourne on the 21 – 22 February 2012, Decorative Events & Exhibitions (DE&E) will give visitors a rare glimpse behind the scenes of their award-winning design studio.

DE&E believe that a great stand needs to not only ‘pop’ visually, but must be experiential and engage its visitors. This year’s stand will provide visitors with an interactive experience and an opportunity to see the magic up close and personal.

The DE&E Design Team spend their days creatively designing stands for their clients; deciding on a theme for this year’s stand was a lengthy process, however designing their own is a chance to flex creative muscles and not be bound by a brief.

“After 6 concepts, the team decided to take our ‘artist’s studio’ stand back to basics, to the raw and edgy beginnings”, commented DE&E Creative Director, Peter Fulton.

“We wanted to represent our creative Studio and show visitors that DE&E is a 360 degree design studio; a one-stop shop for clients. Our studio can do everything, from initial concept design to 3D renders and mood boards. DE&E have become much more than stylists and decorators.”

Creative Director Peter Fulton and Head Designer Jada Bennett will collaborate with clients on a design. Sketch artist Michael Fulton will then create hand-sketched concepts during the show and clients have the opportunity to transform their sketches into 3D renders back in the Sydney Studio.

The ‘Design Studio’ will feature an industrial-chic, contemporary design.  The wood-grain textures and hand-made ‘pencil-wall’ created with hundreds of pencils are complimented by a 3-tier chandelier constructed from sketching paper and oversized light globes. The stand also features a draftsman’s table, industrial stools and lightboxes exhibiting original sketches and photographs of past projects.

“I am excited to see visitors describe their visions for their next exhibition or event, and how our design team will quickly turn them into a concept. It’s going to be an interesting experience for all involved – definitely not to be missed!” says Managing Director, Mark Magennis.
