Frank Mohren
With the successful completion of the first year of operation of the multi award-winning Melbourne Convention Centre, Frank has decided that the time is right to pursue other career opportunities.
During his time with the MCEC, Frank, as a key part of the management team, has overseen many of the changes that have taken place in the centre.
Frank Mohren joined the MCEC prior to the opening of the then, about to be completed Melbourne Exhibition Centre, and was largely responsible for the leading position that the MCEC has achieved both in terms of performance and also in setting new standards for the exhibition industry in Australia.
More recently, he has played a leading role in the design, development and subsequent oversight of the operation of the new Melbourne Convention Centre. The new convention centre – apart from its world leading environmental performance – has quickly become a renowned leader in its operational, technological, and food and wine service excellence, not only within Australia but throughout the world.
Frank has been an instrumental part of the team that has enabled the MCEC and Melbourne to achieve a widely acknowledged global leadership position in the meetings, exhibition, and event industries.
The chairman of the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Trust, Bob Annells, also acknowledged the remarkable contribution by Frank to the success of the centre and the role he has played in the development and subsequent successful operation of the new Melbourne Convention Centre.
